Hi everyone.

We have a new show running September 11 to September 30 with a free opening September 25 from 1-4.

We also have festival happening on Saturday September 25th from 1-4.

Here’s what it’s all about - worth the trip to Guelph you guys…..

“Call of the Sirens” - Many a mariner has run adrift by the seductive call of the Sirens.We’ll seduce you with ancient river arts… and our own talented friendly “Siren” Ishra from Invoke-Tress DanceTheatre performing the Mariner’s” lament. Join us as 30 local artists interpret the river, the solitude, the allure of the water, with paint, photographs, glass, metal and clay. Historical works by Evan Macdonald will be on display. Our resident musician Peter Howlett will serenade us on guitar. Experience the folk lore of olde world river arts, with hands on activities that honour the water, the autumnal forests and streams. “Watchin” the River Flow” - magical river arts, canoe culture, art, ale, and fare! … Enjoy tips from our own “ole man river” guide, Ralph Beaumont from the Grand River Conservation Authority as he describes local canoe culture. Discover secluded places to put in your canoe for photographs, fishing, flora and fauna. Experience magical walking sticks and mystical magic wands by Chuck Reece, created from branches adrift along our own river systems. Discover the water nymph in you! “Come away O human child! To the waters and the wild. With a faery hand in hand, For the worlds more full of weeping than you can understand.” Yeats…. ale and fare…

“The Feathered Hook” -honouring the sacred fish, olde world river arts, fly tying, casting, art, ale, bbq …”Only those become weary of angling that bring nothing to it but the idea of catching fish.” Sabatini. Surrounded by the rich symbolism of water paintings, pottery, and works by local artists, guests will experience the ancient art of tying flys and the magical movement, the dance of the fly cast. Discover the art and science behind honouring the sacred fish. Pro fly fishermen Brian Primeau and Arron Varga will delight us with their river stories and show us the how-to of these olde world river crafts. Fly tying and casting clinics from “Hook Line and Sinker.” For everyone interested in canoeing, hiking, art, poetry and river arts, bring along your equipment and your questions for hands on fun… bbq and ale tasting.

“Loaves and Fishes” -Our river flows thru us - we toast local ale, food, art, and simple culinary tradition with an ale tasting and bbq…They all ate and were satisfied” New Testament… Cassandra from Bracelet of Hope will be here, and celebrating their 25th anniversary, Wellington Brewery produces their craft from local Wellington water and Canadian malt . It’s ripe for the tasting, and they’re sending it our way. Our good old fashioned simple Canadian bbq features fare from our own neighbourhood Valeriote’s market. Enjoy the flavours, savour the art, and we’ll introduce you to all the bountiful joys that autumn play along the river brings.

Zentangle created by Rick and Marie Roberts combines the relaxation of zen and the art of drawing doodles. This recent craze has been sweeping the internet and artists everywhere are creating 3.5” square zentangles all over the world. Come and join us for an evening of learning some basic tangles and relaxation.

Farmers’ Market Show:Sept 25 2010

All FASM members are invited to participate in the Farmers’ Market Shows on Saturday September25

These shows will happen on the grass in front of Knox Presbyterian Church (south side of Main Street next to China House Restaurant and `will also be part of the Market on the edge of the Main Street. The set up for each show will be at about 8:00am but you are welcome to come earlier if you wish. A donation for each show is requested to Knox Church for their kind permission to use their property.

Please contact webmaster@fasm.ca if you want to take part.

Stands/ tables will not be provided this year so…bring your own stands/ tables with your artwork- as much as you want to bring- all your responsibility!

If it rains it is up to you whether to take part.

We shall use the Shows to promote FASM and Studio tour brochures will be distributed to the public.

Hello! I’m emailing you this information to invite you to attend as a vendor, to our fifth annual Christmas Bazaar & Open House up at our school. I’ve attached the relevant info. Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions! —– Vanessa [vsmcnaught@hotmail.com]
Look forward to working with you! Currently we have spaces available for between 30-50 vendors/artisans with
spaces ranging from approx. 9 feet square booths (including 1 x 6′-8′ foot
table) in our gym, to smaller single table stand alones (in our atrium/entrance), to classroom spaces in a more intimate smaller room, to wall spaces along the corridor of our hallways (ask about this if interested).

Our Bazaar date is tentatively set for Saturday November 2oth from 10 am to 4 pm. Table cost will be $100 ($50 automatically donated to SCAW). This includes one lunch free of charge, as well as any assistance required by you from a student designated to you on the day! Children’s entertainment will also be provided.
Last year we had between 700-800 people come through our doors and this year
are expecting even more.
