CALL FOR ARTISTS: Colour Me Red Art Show and Sale
When the chill of winter settles in, why not add some warmth to your home with a bit of red? The Fine Arts Society of Milton will host the Colour Me Red Art Show and Sale, where you will find the walls covered with the big talent of local artists tucked into small scale art. Suitable as a gift, or a special treat for yourself to pull you out of the winter blahs. Plus, there will be a children's Valentine's card-making activity on the Saturday morning. It's all too special to miss!
When: Friday, Feb. 9 (10 to 8), Saturday, Feb. 10 (9:30 to 6), and Sunday, Feb. 11 (11 to 5)
Where: The SPOT in the Milton Mall, 55 Ontario St. South (near the Rona+ mall entrance)
Cost: Free Admission
We are so excited about this new art show, in which members will be able to showcase and sell their smaller scale pieces!

This small works show is open to FASM members only. REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
INFORMATION AND DETAILS:
Instead of an Entry Fee, there will be a 20% commission taken for artworks sold to cover transaction fees.
Artwork Guidelines:
• Up to 3 pieces can be submitted per artist, which will be displayed together, arranged in a vertical column. The positioning in the store will be determined by the time stamp of registration submission to keep things fair.
• Original artwork only, no reproductions permitted, except in the case of photography.
• Any form of artwork can be submitted THAT CAN HANG ON A HOOK ON A WALL (paintings, photography, fibre art, stained-glass, etc.). If you are in doubt, send an email to tinclancyart@gmail.com.
• The maximum size of each piece (including frame) must not exceed 144 sq in, with a maximum width of 16" (ex. 12"x12", 16"x9", 10"x13", etc.).
• Because of the theme "Colour me RED," there must be some touch of red, however little, in each piece that is submitted. Any shade of red (burgundy, scarlet, etc.) is acceptable.
• Please ensure that your pieces are ready to hang with a wire BEFORE intake.
• All artwork must have the artist's name, the artwork title, price, and contact information attached on the back of the piece.
Art Intake: Thursday, Feburary 8, 2024, 4pm to 7pm
• You will fill in art labels (that we will provide) to tape beside each piece when you arrive at intake.
• Neither FASM nor The SPOT assumes responsibility for any artwork submitted. You will required to sign the Liability Release Form at intake.
• All sales will go through FASM. Artists who have sold will be sent an e-transfer from FASM within 30 days after the show closes. Please send an email to tinaclancyart@gmail.com if you prefer to receive a payment by cheque instead.
Sit Times:
In order for the doors to be open during Mall hours, there must be at least two volunteers on duty at all times, to ensure security and engagement with the public.
Therefore, each participant in the show is expected to volunteer at least one 2-hour shift during the Show.
When you arrive, you will be asked to sign up for a spot on the Schedule for the Show.
Note: Artists can waive the sit-time duty for a charge of $10.
Art Outtake: Sunday, February 11, 2024, 5pm to 6pm
Children's Workshop: On the Saturday, we will have a Valentine's Card-making workshop for children that will last 2 hours, and which will be supervised by teen volunteers from the Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC).
